Amal Chatterjee

Amal ChatterjeeAmal Chatterjee is the author of the novel Across the Lakes and the non-fiction book Representations of India, 1740-1840. He received a Scottish Arts Council Writers Bursary and was short-listed for the Crossword India Best Novel Award (1998) and for the Creative Scotland Awards in 2001. He was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in Kolkata/Calcutta, India. Now based in Amsterdam, he reviews for the Dutch newspaper, Trouw, and teaches Creative Writing at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. His short fiction has been published in Atlas and TimeOut. Amal is currently working on a novel and a collection of new writing, Creative Writing: Writers on Writing. Languages: English, Dutch and Bengali.
